Glad to see you have an open mind <sarcasm>. At least you admit your ignorance (haven't driven either) before you spout your drivel.
I *have* driven both (and own a 9-5) and the 9-5 is night and day different than the Lacrosse. I looked at both because I wanted to make sure the Saab was actually worth the extra money. It is.
Having said that, the buick is a pretty nice car (for a buick - it's not a mush-mobile). However, the 9-5 is better than the buick in so many ways. No turbo available. The 9-5 feels and drives sporty and much smaller than it's dimensions (i.e. like a Saab) - it's turning radius is an inch less, yet the trunk is larger than the buick. Among other things, the rear side windows are bigger - they're so small in the buick my son could hardly see out the back window of the Lacrosse - no problem in 9-5. Not sure how they do all this when they're "identical" .
Take a closer look without your preconceived notions, and they're actually pretty different. Or just keep demonstrating your ignorance...
