Did anyone else recive this letter? Its very interesting and seems that that SAAB is on the verge of settling. Its based on "plaintiffs contend that SAAB misrepresented in its advertisements the durability and safety of the low profile tires on some cars, and failed to disclose the propensity of these particular low profile tires to suffer premature tire failure (including blowouts) undew routine driving conditions, causing the need for costly tire replacement and oftern causing costly damage to rims."

The settlement part of the class action says in a nutshell if after 4 years or 40000 miles if you had to repair/replace a tire or wheel for reasons other than a foreign object SAAB will pay up to $350 per tire and 16" wheel and $450 for a 17" wheel.

The most confusng part of this for me is thats its only for 1994 - 2002 Saab 900 and 9-3. The VIN they refer to was for my old 1996 900SE and I now have a 2002 Aero with 17" wheels and tires. I did have to replace a tire due to a small defect in the sidewall BUT both SAAB and a tire dealer told me it was not warranty. I guess I'm out of luck on this one.
