Our 2006 wagon started stumbling at idle or at stops early last week. No CEL, just a feeling as though it would stall out. Well, Sunday it was really bad after a short trip to the playground so I started taking a closer look. Switched the MAF with our 2003 Aero and no change. This morning I replaced the DIC with one that I've been driving around with as a spare for about 5 years. Smooth as silk again.

I've never replaced a DIC before but I expected burnt plastic, or some visible signs. This one still looks new. I even took the plastic housing off it just to see if there was anything visible. Nada.

I have to think there are a lot of junky used DICs out there if there's no way to test it other than hooking it up to a properly operating vehicle? I bought my spare new last time, and I'll probably do so again.
