New jalousie installed Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Tue, 16 Aug 2011 17:07:12 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I tried to do it via the WIS method but cold not see or engage the screw hidden above the tranny gear changing latch to allow me to remove the shift knob. So I used ToddinMA's method and snipped the jalousie just forward of the pasenger side jalousie trunion and slipped everything into position fighting the knob the whole time.
I also replaced the inoperative door lock lamp, the inoperative PRNDL lamp, and the inoperative lighter/power outlet lamp. I attempted to replace the lamp in the Winter mode button but could not remove the button from the shifter trim to access the still working factory original lamp.
Easier to remove the console trim than I feared. The shifter knob is a maor interference when doing anything in the PRNDL slot. My wife helped me, although she says her major contribution was in feeding the mosquitos to keep them off me, and total time for my first attempt at this repair was just under an hour.
