Sure it is 1010 and not 0101? Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Fri, 2 Sep 2011 21:15:34 In Reply to: Code 1010 only in winter, DAF, Fri, 2 Sep 2011 18:00:21 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
If it is 0101 I'm afraid it is something that is going to cost money for a lot of people when shops try to find the reason.
It seems to be a very elusive code where it can be a multitude of problems setting off the same code.
Air mass meter is the first that comes to mind but just recently I read online about a shop that fixed the code by replacing a throttle body.
I am battling a 2001 9-3 now that has had both a new throttle body and air mass meter installed by another shop before they gave up.
I have done a multitude of test drives where I can get the code to set after about 10 miles but have not been able yet to find the culprit.
Another car, a 9-5 last week with the same code I let them borrow a good used air mass meter and so far, the code has not come back.
So as you can see in your case too, just weather (or I would guess air density) can play a role as well.
