You might have a clogged A/C condesate drain line. There are two (one on each side) that run from the lower front corners of the ACC air box, under the carpet, to an outlet on the bottom of the car (in the general vicinity of each front seat). If they get clogged, the air box fills up and when you accelerate, the water sloshes out of the underseat vents into the rear footwells. It has happened twice to my '02.
