I called eEuroparts today about the MacKay hose to substitute for the Heater Bypass and evidently they no longer carry it. Does anyone know the resting state of the HBPV? Are all three ports normally open, or is there one that is closed? It would be pretty simple to make up some NPT brass barb fittings and a "tee" to replace the HBPV and then plug off the vacuum line. Parker makes barb fittings in 3/8 and 1/2 inch ID. What is the size of the ID of the hoses that feed the HBPV? It looks like 1/2 inch to me. Yeah, I know I could just plug off the actuator line for the HBPV, but the plastic may eventually fail from thermal cycling. Brass fittings offer far more peace of mind.
