Toss some sand in the tank and you might get the whining back. lol
A few years back on the 900 board someone was complaining (well maybe not complaining but concerned) that after he had the clutch replaced by a shop, he couldn't hear the scraping/hissing noise that he usually heard other times a new clutch had been installed in his cars.
I thought it was odd complaining about a noise not being there after a repair. Especially since I don't hear anything after I have replaced a clutch. But maybe it is because I polish the ridges off the flywheel after the machine job making it more smooth to begin with.
