alignment + wheel offset/size

I'm most of the way through doing all 4 shocks etc on our 2004 9-5 arc. It will need an alignment. I live in a northern climate so will be switching to winter wheels, well, basically immediately, in part because I shredded one of my summer wheels (precipitating the suspension work)...
Summer wheels are 17" Saab og9-3 wheels (the double 3 spoke ones from the 2002 SE) 225/45R17. Winter wheels are 16" steel ones for a NG9-3 (just purchased used) 215/55R16. I believe the offset for the NG 9-3 is a little different. Will this difference in offset affect the geometry significantly for the alignment? what about the difference in tire diameter? Ie do I risk screwing up the camber when I switch back to the 17's in summer. I'd like to wait to get new tires until then if possible.
Also wondering if it might be preferable to get 235/45R17 tires as that is the same outer diameter as 215/55/R16? Any issues? I believe that is spec on the 2006+ 9-5's...
