wow. 163k is about double what many change the rear shocks at... have you checked the ride height front + back? is it sagging at all in the back?
wagons do have different stiffer springs (for the heavier load). I just put new wagon springs in our sedan + I measured the length vs the old sedan springs: sag was about 1 cm uncompressed. But I think with the stiffer rate, they've compressed less, so the difference in ride height is >1cm. I can't give a good before/after because before, the car had a spare wheel (shredded a tire) which throws off all the ride heights... at the moment, the front of the car is lifted waiting for me to get a chance to go back at the fronts whcih are half done... I will report back with a complete ride height set of measurements once all is done!
anyway, my point was get wagon springs! you may not want to lower it further, also...
it's not a hard DIY... if that's your plan, look at fixmysaab for step by step + search this bb for advice... link is to my tips from when I did it... I put on konis, but it's all pretty much the same regardless...
good luck!
James...
