Both Mobil 1 0W-40 and 10W-40 High Mileage meet the ACEA specs for my 2001 Aero. The 10W-40 is readily available in 5 quart jugs at WalMart year round. They also sell 0W-40 for almost $7 per quart... so I wait until the day after Christmas to stock up when Pep Boys sells any M1 oil for $4 per quart on one of their "four hours only" specials. Without any special lab and test equipment to confirm my recipe, I figure that a 50/50 mix of 0W-40 and 10W-40 gives 5W-40. Haven't had any problems yet. This is the only car I buy synthetic for, everything else in my fleet gets regular, non-name brand oil. Haven't had any problems yet in over 30 years of oil changing.
