1999 SE LPT 4cyl
From new I believe my 1999 9-5 always had the blue Saab coolant. And I always replaced with the Saab genuine blue part#0268177 from eEuro. Actually, eEuro never listed this coolant for my car nor any coolant for the 1999 9-5. Someone had pointed out years ago to find it in Chemicals under 1998 models.
Just this month I needed to order a couple gallons for WP removal and flush. So, not thinking, I went to 1999 9-5 SE in the Cooling Systems and now eEuro has a listing for coolant. Bottle looks different with GM logo but I didn't think about it and ordered 2 gallons. It took a few weeks to finally get here and turns out it's not the same. It's yellow from what I could tell dipping a little out onto my white shelf. Also says not for use with systems needing DEX-COOL just for info. Part# 12378560 on the bottle (even though on eEuro it says part#12346290).
Anyway, it's yellow, not blue. So anyone know what is the deal? Is it the same? Better? Not the right stuff for my car? Deal? Now I am concerned and may have just blown $30 in coolant I cant use.
OK to use as long as I copmpletely flush out all the blue? And from now on always use this new yellow? So did later in 1999 model, Saan change from the blue? My 1999 is a later 1999 model but I swear it has always had blue.
I KNOW the color isn't what is important but I do want to make sure any different coolant is compatible or good for my system.
