Regular clunk in front end

I have a regular clunk that seems timed to my wheel rotation. It was fairly sudden and I thought I had picked up some leaves or branches or something, but don't see anything around the tire.
The clunk is strongest with me coasting with the foot off the pedal. When I step on the brake, the clunk fades almost completely. When I accelerate it goes away completely. Almost feels like a metalic clunk like a drive shaft or something. Mostly on driver's side, but doesn't seem tied to wheel.
That said, I did recently replace the front brake pads.
Does this sound like anything typical?
