Doesn't low engage the AC ? I feel for your issue because I have the same one in both my 1999 and 2004 9-5. But it primarily happens only on longer drives when cruising at highway speeds and when the outside temps are in the 30 to 50 degree range. It just gets uncomfortably warm. Running on recir is the way I can offset it, but then the air can get stale in the cabin.
All in all I consider the ACC in these cars a big stinky piece of cr*p , I'd mch rather have manual dials.
