You must have 7mm hex key to remove the guide pins. Most hex key sets do not have that size. When removing the rotor indexing screw, clean the socket and then drive the bit in to make sure that it is fully seated. Some remove this screw and reseat with anti seize when they get a Saab, to prevent problems later. That screw does nothing once the wheel bolts are torqued. When you reinstall with anti seize on threads and bottom of bolt head, tighten lightly. Try to remove this screw before you do anything else. If it will not come out, you are not doing anything else.
Removal of the large bolts that mount the caliper can be difficult. They are installed dry and with loctite blue. They can be a battle to remove, requiring a lot of force to remove even after the bolt breaks loose, which can take a lot of force.
I reinstall with anti seize on every fastener thread, including the slider pins.
Can someone provide info on what lube is best for the slider pins?
