Suspension/Steering noise all around. Posted by B Millar [Email] (#1109) [Profile/Gallery] (more from B Millar) on Mon, 19 Dec 2011 06:23:49 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
So work has me traveling a lot coming up between CT and NJ (not pleased). And as of this morning "operation new Saab" has been switched to "operation preserve-the-Saab-you've got."
I have a very crunchy sounding rear suspension on my '04 Aero sedan with 90k miles on it. The cold increases the sound substantially, but I think it's just bushings. Any suggestions at to which ones? No weird ride-height or alignment issues as of yet. I need to get under there and see if there's any evidence of leaking shocks. I hear they don't last much past 100k.
The front steering is driving my batsh*t. I was getting loud clunking when I turned right and my mechanic and I drove around a parking lot doing figure-eights for 45 minutes trying to figure out what on EARTH was making noise. It ended up being an "everything is tight and safe, come back when it gets worse" diagnoses. The CV boots looked fine and we re-torqued everything under there. Now it's started making a loud groaning creaking noise when I turn hard left. But only while I'm moving. Like making a parking maneuver or doing a U-turn. I can sit there parked and turn the wheel either way with no sounds. Tie rode ends maybe?
If anyone has a similar car with similar mileage and sounds I'd love to hear from you. Thanks!
