Yes, the "Check Gearbox" lamp is only for Automatics.
"Check ACS" is for the Automatic Clutch System, AKA "Sensonic". Sensonic was only installed on European NG900s back in the 94-96 time frame, and was never installed on any 9-5 (except maybe on very, very early prototypes). Sensonic used a motor to actuate a hydraulic clutch master cylinder (non-Sensonic NG900s used a cable clutch) when you shifted gears.
It just goes to show you the long production lead time that these devices have that a system that was out of production, and never installed on this model, still has a warning light on the 1998-2001 MIUs.
