Interesting. I ended up ordering a new throttle body for my '03 9-5 wagon from Parts for Saabs in the UK because I couldn't find a new one available anywhere. Without VAT, the price was very similar to US prices. I'm finding many parts are now cheaper in the UK, even with shipping to the US (remember to subtract 20% VAT from the listed price). I read on SaabsUnited that UK distribution is back up and running, so there's no concern about parts over there. So far, I've used Parts for Saabs and Neo Brothers to get some parts that are unobtainium over here (leather knob for my C900, wood knob for my 9000, trim pieces, few other bits and pieces), and have been very pleased with them.
I'm not too worried about parts at this point. Thankfully my 9-5 isn't my only car, so I'm lucky that I can afford a few days for shipping parts and then doing the repairs.
I get a sense that Saab folks worldwide will stay tightly linked to make sure we can all keep our cars going. :-)
