if they are trying to hang on (like last time), and if they have another brand, they may try to keep a SAAB logo on the front of the building by selling used ones. KW + London did that through the last bankruptcy. All depends on if there is a solution in sight I suppose (and the dealer's other revenue streams from other brands)... As I understand it, the way it works here is a dealer gets first choice of the cars that come in + the rest go to auction... so typically, any collision history that would show up on Carproof etc (>$2000 I think? I forget the rule), excessive mileage, excessive wear + tear, would be reasons to send to auction. Our dealer (in the dying days of GM) had "as is" specials on the lot of cars that didn't meet their criteria + were not fixed up like the CPOs... they'd try to sell them cheaper (more like normal market prices vs jacked up) for a couple weeks before they went to a wholesaler as a batch... all that said, there may be differences between lease returns + trade ins though!
Any Saab dealer in Canada that plans to keep selling Saabs going forward will have limited supply. Would not surprise me to see your car end up on the lot.
There are not a lot of wagons on the market (or at least there weren't this past fall: 1 in all of ontario when I checked). Took a look more recently + there are now a few more, so you might have some luck. They are in relatively high demand. We ended up settling for a sedan (which is very nice even if it doesn't fit a refrigerator in the back) due to lack of (suitable) wagon availability...
