Well, I also have a v6 wagon that skipped two timing belt notches due to a bad timing belt replacement by a dealer. It took one head with it and they paid for the fix. About $2k worth.
We have been driving since. It does not get the milage the I4 does, but it is an ok engine. I do all the work on the car except the timing belt.
The belt is going to have to be done soon again, not sure to keep / sell / do it my self / have it done again (about $1k with indy).
Do a compression test to see what that tells. Also make sure the turbo is not leaking. I assume you have done this, but just making sure. I had to replace the v6 turbo last year. Check the intercooler / Throttle Body for oil. If enough, could be the mixing is coming from the turbo, but this is a long shot. Check head bolt torque, but this is mainly for the I4. I have saved at least 2 heads on the I4 by checking / replacing head bolts, others on the board have also.
How do you know the head is cracked and has been concealed?
Oil leak could be from an oil sender switch....??? Just replaced on on an I4, but don't know where the V6 one is off hand.
