Well Norm, the gearbox drain is at the bottom of the gear box 19mm head on the bolt. When you drain the box, you'll get about 3 quarts of fluid out. Far from the 7 or eight quarts. Drain the gear box from the upper atf cooling hose on the gear box. Loosen the bolt and remove, have drain pan handy and an empty anti freeze jug handy. Plug the hole(atf cooler hose hole) in the gearbox with a rubber fuel line. Install the cooler line in the empty anti freeze jug. Install funnel in the atf dip stick hole. Add 2 quarts and start engine. let about 2 quarts pump out then add 2 more and so on until the fluid is pink. My experience is about 11 quarts total. This method flushes the entire gearbox including the converter. I've performed this on my 9-5 and a 900 as well. Works very good. The total cost for you is about 15 min of your time and what ever 11 quarts of atf is. Be carefull not to run the transmission out of fluid when performing this.
