I have the MacKay bypass hose. I got the fill coolant message. The coolant was about a 1/2" or so low in the tank. Is this an early sign of a head gasket failure? The car feels a little sluggish. That might be winter fuel. Roughly what does a head gasket run at an indy? What else should be changed at the same time. It's an 03 Aero at ~110K.

I've never had to add coolant except when the bybass valves have failed. I changed the upper radiator hose some time ago as a preventative maintenance item.
