unless time is of the essence and you have to follow both paths at the same time. I had some very slight miss symptoms about 2 months ago, and replacing plugs with correct gap solved it (no error code or CEL).
On the other hand, I just purchased a DIC from eEuro to install on our '99 9-5 lpt. They have a sale on them just now. Based upon posts here, I checked my DIC. It was a 3.4 series, and I decided to get a spare. The 3.4 was not from 1999, but it wasn't brand new when I bought the car at 126K miles. It has gone about 57K miles since then, and still seems okay - but now it's the spare and the 3.7 DIC is in the car.
Hope you can fix it cheaply and in a timely way.
