Front end clunk- 2002 vs 2004 Posted by markatl [Email] (#1833) [Profile/Gallery] (more from markatl) on Wed, 22 Feb 2012 13:30:03 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Just bought an 04 Arc(38,000 miles) and sold my 02 linear. Is there a difference in the tightness/body integrity between the earlier models and later ones-as I have read a time or two on here from various posters: saying their older cars rode better? Is that really the issue or are two mechanics just missing the diagnosis? The front end loosness/clunk is there. At low speeds, over minor bumps-not turning- there is a knocking/loosness feel to the vehicle.
One mechanic, a Saab specialist, said there was no problem he could see. I dont know if they drove it.
Kauffman tire drove it and heard or saw nothing. I have read many past posts-including Marsh332's from he last few days- hoping to find an answer but have found nothing definitive.
Hoping it is not just the way my car drives, I have narrowed it down to strut bearings or strut mounts; something that is not visible. As you can see, I have very little mileage on the car. Is there record of 9-5's that came with defective strut bearings?
any insight/info would be great,
mark
