Big difference between catalog items and special order Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sat, 12 May 2012 16:58:15 In Reply to: It has been on every shipment I've recieved from them, Chadwick [Profile/Gallery] , Fri, 11 May 2012 19:07:39 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I placed two separate orders for items shown on an UK Parts supplier's web site. Each order arrived in 7 to 10 days, delivered by USPS, and each had to be signed for. No Duties or VAT on either. Total cost to my door for each order was approximately equal to stateside MSRP for the items.
I requested pricing for two $12 special order items from the same supplier. These were priced with huge shipping costs (possibly including Duty) and VAT. The total "to my door" cost for these parts was quoted at nearly $100 from the same supplier! The parts cost ~$24, the remainder was shipping, handling, VAT, and maybe Duty.
