I'm getting good at this.....
1999 Saab 9-5 3.0- on way to work , huge lurching on the highway-
took it easy as I headed home- took foot off gas any time lurching stared.
Saw that the rubber in the front lower torque mount (anti torque mount?) had disappeared leaving only the center portion floating in the metal frame.
Needed the car, so.... I took it off- this one has the vertical screws.
I sliced open a spare radiator hose, turning it into a flat rectangle. I wrapped this around the rubber that was left, jamming it in with the assistance of some simply green soap. I kept the screw hole centered by adding a few slices of rubber- jammed in. I then filled any open spot with silicone sealant, then wrapped a strip of duct tape to ensure the rubber stayed in place.(dodging the screw area)
Just put 500 miles on the car today. Worked great, but don't worry- ordered the new mount- new was cheaper than junkyard- and will swap out when it arrives.
