They are comparing Saab to brands like Hummer and Oldsmobile. Saab demise is not the brand demise - it is the full company demise. In Saab's case no one is legally responsible to supply every single part or provide warranty. Today many Saab suppliers went bankrupt or phased out the Saab parts. The new "Saab Parts" entity most likely will not have enough cash to order a new production runs of every out-of-stock part (especially for something as complex as a headlight) to get them in stock.

See the link to their "analysis". For some reason it has now been removed from the ALG web site but still exists as a Google cashed page. They never even mention the Rover case - which is the only one relevant in the modern history.
