Fans do work. Zero pressure in morning. Temp seems normal to me, but I will try and check it.
When I first had symptoms of bad HG last year it was obvious - pressure in system when cold the next morning, and it would start and die when cold, then start right up. I had a slight weep in #4 cyl. New HG cured it. Never heard of trapped air being an issue on Saabs like with my Range Rover. I'm going to do the layman's coolant test for gas/oil and then a pressure test.
If I keep the coolant a 1/2" below the seam it does fill up the expansion tank when hot but just below the return line hose on the tank that goes to the radiator. Cap is a year old so I can't see that being bad.
