Everything I have read here is that the early versions can fail suddenly and can damage the catalytic converter by blowing unburnt fuel through it. Although ours didn't cause any problems when the CEL came on and codes p1312 and P1334 were recovered. I replaced them quickly. The latest version of 3.7 is supposed to fail more elegantly and uncatastrophically (if that's a word). If Swedecar comments here he can provide better details.
