rear window woes Posted by TimN [Email] (#2379) [Profile/Gallery] (more from TimN) on Sun, 10 Jun 2012 16:36:12 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I sent my 2000 9-5 with my daughter to university. It came back with the rear driver's side window messed up. The rear window uses a cable to raise and lower it. The cable wraps around a spool at the bottom of the door. The motor assembly and spool is riveted to the door frame. The upper end of the cable (the side that pulls the window up) is loose. I'm not sure where the end fits but I think that it attaches to the window. Also the cable wrapped around the spool has gotten all messed up from turning with too much slack. While I have a crude idea on how it works, I'm not sure how to fix it. If anyone has been there and done that, big thanks.
