I have owned 3 9-5's.. Posted by Johnson [Email] (#3237) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Johnson) on Mon, 9 Jul 2012 21:00:39 In Reply to: Lots of issues..., Stephen Goldberger, Sun, 8 Jul 2012 15:04:19 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
a 99 SE with the 2.3lpt, a 03 with a 2.3lpt, and my current 07 Aero. I would have to say that in some ways I preferred the older interior, But my 07 has the 6 disk in dash mp3 cd player, with the HK speakers sounds amazing. The suspension is better, I upgraded the 99 to 01 aero specs, and I would have to say that the 07 feels much smoother while still being tight. The power is much better with the 07 vs the other two (I had a stage 4 on the 99, and it was faster, but only AFTER the turbo kicked in) I still am not a fan of the nose, and everybody always tells me I have a reverse light out (it only has one and one rear fog). BUT I never look at it myself, I sit in in and I drive it. and it is 100% worth having. Plus having a newer car means less issues typically. I bought mine last year with 40k miles on the clock for 14k. My parents were recently car shopping and for fun I was looking at other 9-5's and they were not wagons as you said you want, but I saw 2 08 9-5's one an aero, one not, both under 14k. Both with less than 50k on the clock. Personally, I would recommend the 06 and up models, if you can find a wagon. I only have had one issue with mine, a cracked check valve in the vacuum system. I can't wait till the wife lets me do some performance mods on it (if they are still available in the next couple of years)
