Unusual brake pad life Posted by Herb Hirsch [Email] (#114) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Herb Hirsch) on Tue, 21 Aug 2012 07:53:40 In Reply to: How long should orignal pads last? 2008, marynvince, Mon, 20 Aug 2012 05:55:18 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I've had two unusual experiences regarding brake pad life with my 9-5's.
1. On my 2000 9-5 which I bought new, the front pads went 100K miles, the rears 200 K miles.
The second front set only went 75K miles, the rears 170K miles.
2. On wife's 2004 9-5, also bought new, the front pads went 70K miles, the rears 75K miles.
3. On my 2007 9-5, bought new, the fronts and rears now have 73K miles. I anticipate that I'll have to replace the front pads at 100K miles, and the rears at 150K or more miles.
I've always been light on tires and brakes, as has been my wife. But, I have to admit this seems unusual.
