All depending on what the cable looks like up at the battery terminal, I do that loop repair too.
So you just create a cable piece with two lug rings and bolt them on the starter and alternator lug.
After all that's what all the 900 from the 80s and 90s had from factory.
Today's alternators has gotten so powerful (140 Amp) together with a much higher demand for power from the car at all times that these crimp connections can't stand the load anymore.
Back in the days with my 1972 Volvo 140, when we put on 4 extra lights up front with a 100W bulb in each, we "might" go wild and up the alternator from the standard 35 Amp to the heavy duty one of 55 Amp.
The 9-5 V6 is much harder to both replace the whole battery cable on and even do that loop repair due to an insane position of starter, headerpipe and routing of cable.
