Gazzillion post's on this...hours of reading. I took a gamble on my 2000 GF Wagon with a 5 speed, AND a replaced engine by the indy shop I bought it from. It's really been a great car in the 2yrs ive owned it. Ive done some upgrade work myself, dash bulbs, dash wood panel,SID,PCV6,Stage 1 tune, some suspension bushings, serp belt, and recently a turbo. The engine has been great, knock on wood. I wouldn't shy away from the replaced engine if the rest of the car look's well maintaned and the seller has records or the shop is a reputable one. It's all the other stuff you have to consider that a car of that age will most likely need repaired or replaced.
