your 2005 arc should have a newer cassette revision (my 2004 arc does). My understanding is that these at least give warning before they fail - throwing CEL's etc.
As others said, scan the code, punch the code into the search field of this BB or look it up in the WIS, and then you will know. Make sure you have correctly gapped NGK plugs that are not too old. Your car probably takes the double platinum ones (but others will work, just have to replace more frequently)...
changing the DI cassette is 10 minutes in the driveway, not even working hard. Not a bad idea to have a spare on hand.
But check the actual code... there are numerous other things that light up the CEL...
