My 2003 Aero has 169k miles. I have always been careful about keeping the tires at 41 psi front/40 rear, and with rotations every 5k. After wearing through the sticky summer-only Pirelli PZero Rossos in 26k, I put a set of Kumho Ecsta ASXs on it. I went through three sets of these, getting 35-40k each time. The price was always right (ie cheaper than the various Continentals, Goodyear, etc) but I was always happy with the performance. Good grip, even wear, noise, etc. Note, I live in the MD suburbs of DC so we typically don't get much snow. These tires were merely OK in the snow but that's what I expected from "ultra high performance" all seasons.
I then put a set of Continental DWS. They were more expensive but had both higher treadlife ratings and mileage warranties. Two of them were lost to uneven wear due to bad front tire toe-in, but the other two succumbed to wear not long after. I ended up only getting ~30k out of them. They did not perform any better than the Kumhos in any condition (small sample size for snow driving).
So I'm back to the Kumhos, the current model of which is the Ecsta 4X.
