It was an SE not an Aero. I saw the SE logo on the left side of the car. It was definitely pre 2002 and I suspect it is a 2001 since my first and only new car (econobox, not a Saab) was bought in NYS in 2001 with a similar license plate. In NY I think you surrender the plates whenever the car changes hands so either it was bought new in 2001, or it is 1999 or 2000 and has had the same owner since then... or it was stolen since the driver didn't seem to care much about getting into an accident or if his turbo blew at 90+ on the highway. It was wispy smoke and seemed to dissipate quickly, so maybe it was just steam blowing off after a 70mph-95mph run.

Rant over. Drive safe Saabneters, these cars don't grow on trees 8-)

If anyone has had a similar saab stolen (I know, not likely) PM me for the license plate.
