This has been happening intermittently (over the last year) and the dealer claims that they can't find anything wrong, and of course it never does this at the dealership. So, I am looking for suggestions as to cause or diagnostic/troubleshooting hints.
Turn the heater on Auto, set driver and passenger temp at 74 degrees F. select the dash vents....warm air will begin discharging from all the vents and the back center console. After a minimum of 10 mins, sometimes as long as 30 mins, the center will start blowing cold, and about the same time, so will the passenger dash side vents. After as little as 5 mins or as much as 20-30 mins, the passenger vents will start blowing warm air again (as well as the console rear vent).
When A/C is selected under the same configuration, the same thing happens except initially the air is cold, the the passenger side dash vents and the console rear vents discharge warm air.
The dealer claims a) the blend doors are OK, b) the system is calibrated, c) the heater control 'checks out ok with our computer'.....
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
John
