Clutch issues? Posted by bmacb [Email] (#684) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bmacb) on Fri, 2 Nov 2012 09:19:48 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I am new to the Saab 9-5 - lots of experience with 9000s
The patient is a new to me 2000 9-5 2.3 purchased as a parts/project car.
It appears to have a dead clutch. The car can be shifted between gears 1-4 with the engine running and the clutch pedal NOT depressed. The car won't move. It acts as if it were in neutral no matter the gear selected.
The brake fluid reservoir shows the correct amount of fluid. A quick inspection of the linkage appears to show proper operation - selecting gears 1-4 "translates" though the linkage causing the transmission shifter rod to move. Any suggestion on what to check before pulling the transmission? Thanks for any ideas.
