Failed switch on steering column. these switches are less expensive then you may be fearing.
Burned out or missing lamps. If you are not the original owner and this car is a fairly recent purchase, the Previous Owner may have used the H7 lamps in the High Beam position to replace the burned out H7 lamps in the Low Beam position.
Fuses cleared
High Beam Relay defective. You can usually swap relays in the relay center to see if the problem disappears with a different relay. Around $15 for a replacement.
"Orange" Relay defective. This is a $60 part that can cause all sorts of weird lighting issues
