It seems the typical failing CPS symptom is:
"car is warm/hot when shut off, come back to start, no start, let car cool down, car starts"
Why wouldn't it fail while the engine is still running?
I was under the impression that the coolant in many aluminum block engines will heat up after the engine is shut off, that's why their electric radiator fan will kick on after they've set a few minutes. Wife's 9-3 does this (as has some Preludes I owned before SAAB'ng), but I'm not sure that I've ever experienced this with a 9-5.
I guess the 9-5 lower block (where the CPS is located) heats up when the engine is shut off?
