I’m getting some wetness on the right corner of the hatch area, near the back of the car. From searching here, it seems there are five common causes of hatch leaks:
1) CHMSL (third brake light) seal leaking
2) water collecting in hatch mounted taillights and spilling when hatch is opened
3) sharkfin antenna leaking
4) possible drainage issues due to cracking in the black plastic paneling that sits on top and on the sides of the hatch door against the metal of the car
5) leaking via the rubber boot that seals the hatch hinge to the car body

How can I readily narrow down the possibilities? I have a cracked trim piece making 4 possible. The sharkfin antenna isn’t great either so I guess it could leak. Number 1 seems somewhat common. Spraying the car with a hose might not replicate heavy rain.

Any ideas as to what to try first? Does anyone know what the black plastic trim might cost? I’m guess it’s pretty easy to swap it out.
