Interesting piece of info with dropping the oil pan again and finding coffee ground.
But also, the whole engine probably have dirt here and there in every nook and cranny (especially camshaft area) so it might not be that it is producing more sludge after the first pan drop but more so shedding the stuff that was already in there. It's hard to tell.
Upgrading to the latest PCV update would make sense but unless you want to upgrade to the aftermarket oil pan where you can remove a cleanout lid, the next best thing is to enlarge the oil pump pickup screen mesh so that any of the debris gets sucked up and dumped into the oil filter, end of story.
Some shops remove the screen mesh and solder in a bigger hole filter but it is easy enough to use an awl and poke bigger holes in there.
It's crazy what they did in creating that pickup when you know how the one in older 900 looked like with 1/8" or bigger of holes in the pickup screening out just the bigger nuts and bolts that are dropped in together with the oil changes.
When I get those bad engines and try to rescue them back to life and after cleaning out the bottom as good as possible and enlarging the holes in the screen. When I drain the oil and filter again after running hot, the filter is full of dirt again. So that shows it works and stuff will slowly clean itself out.
The way is a full teardown of engine and hot washing all parts.
