was it a oem or aftermarket sensor used? If it is oem, check the connections: unplug, spray with contact cleaner, replug... ee101 is connections are the first things to fail, especially in dirty greasy environments subject to shock, vibration, humidity, and temperature cycling (aka under the hood of a car)...
I would try that (several times even) long before dropping the pan on a v6!
