Congratulations!!.......and easy fix for gap Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Tue, 5 Feb 2013 16:29:38 In Reply to: 08 Saab 9-5 front bumper question, Frank [Profile/Gallery] , Tue, 5 Feb 2013 12:50:43 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Assuming the gap you mention is in the chrome strip beneath the headlight the repair is easy. All you need to do is remove the side marker light then re-install it properly.
Open the hood and you will see a tiny screw securing this side marker lens to the fender. You will need a T10 Torx bit to remove the screw.
With the screw removed reach down inside the fender with a long finger or a screw driver and gently move aside a plastic latching piece to release the side marker lens. You can see this J-shaped latching piece from above. This releases the trailing edge of the lens.
The leading edge of the side marker lens slides into the headlamp housing. If this is not done correctly it results in a gap in the chrome trim. Remove the side marker lens and re-seat, then latch the trailing end of the lens and re-install the tiny screw.
