Three o-rings, and you could probably count the two copper crush rings on the turbocharger coolant return line. There are two large o-rings on each end of the coupler tube that goes between the pump and the block, and a smaller fat o-ring on the coolant feed tube that comes from the heater core.
Generally the two large o-rings on the coupler tube flatten with age, but occasionally the coolant feed tube will leak if it wasn't put in correctly.
You have to remove the water pump to get at the coupler tube o-rings. The small o-ring and the copper crush washers do not require removing the water pump, but on the other hand, rarely leak.
