The OEM units are made by SEM in Sweden. Under the right hand "ear" of the unit you should find a sticker indicating it was built by SEM in Sweden, as well as the SAAB trademark and Part Number, and version number of the unit, (3.7D?).

You will also find a four digit code such as 1149 which ientifies the particular unit as being manufactured in the 49th week of 2011. The units I bought in November/December were coded 1144, someone posted recently their new unit has an 1149 code.

Don't expect the custom fitted box that the SAAB branded units arrive in. The CarQuest sold units will arrive in a large flat cardboard box with minimal packaging and a Wells Manufacturing (IIRC) sticker on the outside.
