sludge, turbo, vs 9000 etc... Posted by Snowmobile [Email] (#686) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Snowmobile) on Wed, 6 Mar 2013 02:44:54 In Reply to: Re: tuuuurbooooo, Chad, Mon, 4 Mar 2013 07:23:00 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
2004+ got a decent pcv kit from the factory and seems to be less prone to sludging. prior to that, you should look for pcv#6 (and check when it was installed, and probably drop the pan if you want to be sure all is ok).
2004+ also got the more reliable TD-04 turbo from the aero even in the arc (220hp in the arc vs 185 hp in the 2003 linear). all 2006+ models got 260hp.
I agree that the 9-5 drives bigger, at least than my c900's. It is an excellent touring car, comfortable, with surprisingly good gas mileage, very safe and handles well in all aspects of highway driving. It is bigger and heavier though, so it is not a go-kart. I had suspension issues to correct when we got ours (check ride height and tire wear before purchase), but putting Konis on it really improved the road feel for me.
Basically, the c900 and 9-5 complement each other well: go-kart/touring. 9000 is probably right in the middle in that regard and if you can, you should keep the 9000 going as long as you can... but good luck finding anything on the market to really replace it (Panamera?)... 9-5 is probably the closest option!
