A/C Air distribution assistance Posted by TimN [Email] (#2379) [Profile/Gallery] (more from TimN) on Sat, 16 Mar 2013 15:18:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi, I'm trying to fix an air distribution issue with my 2007 9-5 Aero.
The air distribution controls have no effect when trying to direct the flow through the panel or the floor. The air comes out rather gently from all vents regardless of the settings. The fan motor increases speed as expected however. I did the calibration steps, and there are no codes.
I started by removing the cabin filter. Dirty for sure.
There are a couple of stepper motors on the passenger side. One is labelled 'R', and I assume that it is the passenger side blend door. (By the way, after the car was off for a while I noticed that it reset itself to a home position.) With the motor and A/C on, the other stepper motor would move a bit when I punched the panel or floor distribution buttons. But it didn't seem to go very far. I removed this motor and tried to turn the yellow lever. But I can't make it budge. I've stopped at this point to ask if it should turn easily or not and how far? It seems stuck but I don't want to force anything. A photo is embedded. you can see the yellow lever with the motor removed.
Thanks.
Tim
