I just6 checked my WIS and repalcing the Heater Core is very simlar to replacing the Cabin Air Filter.
The additional steps are disconnecting the heater hoses on the engine side of the firewall, then blowing our the Heater Core with compressed air to remove residual liquid. This step also sounds like a great time to install the MacKay hose kit.
After removing the glove box to access the heater unit (just like the air filter) you also need to disconnect the metallic heater lines going to the heater core (one clamp with one screw hold both pipes), then remove the four screws that secure the heater core to the the heater unit.
Only step which cannot be easily conveyed without a sketch is removal of an air vent (looks more like a square plastic box snapped onto the heater unit) before removing the heater lines, and reattaching same vent after reattaching the two metal heater lines with their single screw clamp.
That and greasing of O-rings during reassembly to prevent leaks.
